Episode 30 – Movie Meltdown

- This week we continue with the second half of our Veronica Cartwright Double Feature as we watch the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. This unusually good remake also stars Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Jeff Goldblum and Leonard Nimoy. We go in-depth on the finer points of Philip Kaufman's film, including the addition of the conspiracies angle, the creepy mood, interesting shots and a minor comparison to the 1956 original. And we try to get over the fact that we are all now traumatized by Donald Sutherland's face!

- Plus we feature part two of our exclusive interview with Veronica Cartwright!

- And as we pet the human-faced dog, we also discuss... The Tracey Fragments, Lloyd Bridges emits pheromones, re-designing Rick Baker, Nerf party, Stephen Chow, Jodie Foster, Fred Ward, wedding debauchery, The Wolfman re-shoots, casting Green Lantern, lead-painted toys, Where to go for Kato?, The 'Hoff was really cool?, self-moderation, Bruno, Michele Gondrey, Mel Gibson shoves his hand in The Beaver, experimenting with Jarts, Todd Browning's Dracula, more of The Green Hornet, you can't trust the Government, MacGruber!, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer weiner, deep-seated human fears, The Ellen Page Show, McCarthyism vs. conspiracies, The Palace Theater, poking each other with sticks, I Love You Beth Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, goopy seventies films, serious Baywatch, belly massages, marriages falling apart, the silent Phantom of the Opera, Sacha Baron Cohen, I want a giant metallic spider, Ving Rames IS Aqua-Man, Where are they going for Hooker?, Little Man Tate, remaking The Blob, The Weinermobile is awesome, Nick Fury, Remo Williams: The Adventure Ends?, commie dogs or mutant dogs, Midnight Star, Wild Wild West, gasoline-soaked pods and sobbing into your bacon sandwich.
