Movie Meltdown - Episode 132
Coming to you live from the 10th Annual Lebowski Fest, we hang out (mostly in the parking lot) and discuss movies and other geeky activities. Then we interview James Hoosier, aka Liam from “The Big Lebowski“!!! Then in our usual askew fashion our movie discussion this week is…Raising Arizona. But not before a One from the Vaults memory from William Forsythe himself!! Then we attempt to do Raising Arizona justice as we spiral into an examination of the Coen Brothers entire career. Then bowling!
Plus as we rub elbows with a sea of Dudes and Walters, we eventually mention…passing geeky activities on to your children, Woody Allen surrogates, Red Road, drilling holes in sheet metal, throw the bunny in the box, Midnight in Paris, mom’s different reality plane, being a John Huston uber-fan, Party Down, beating Charles Grodin’s feet with a baseball bat, reading Harry Potter, Con Air, The Return of Martin Guerre, Fight Club, running over a goose, daddy’s skull-crushingly depressing favorite films, John Goodman, the poker tell of horror movies, now you’ll both work in the store, Burn After Reading, trying to hold a tablespoon and a half of mashed potatoes in your mouth, bye Glen Campbell, Drive Angry, Horrible Bosses, mashing up Fancies, Drugstore Cowboy, The disappearance of Alice Creed, kicking in a few casting agents doors, senseless death, A Hole in the Head, calling a number on a flyer at bowling alley, A Serious Man, Kathy Bates hobbling babies, Nikolai Gogol the overcoat, No Country For Old Men, trying to explain and apologize for your movie’s premise, babies in sunglasses, Iron Man 2, Owen Wilson, Undercover Blues, Henry V, who can make Don Cheadle a bad actor?, outlaw danger - but still gentle at the same time, Fat City, The Wicker Man, Midnight Run, Leonard Smalls and the big question…why are you wearing your clothes during sex?
Spoiler Alert: In this episode, we fully discuss Raising Arizona, and along the way may very well spoil all the other Coen Brothers movies. You have been warned…
