Movie Meltdown - Episode 26 This is the Way the World Ends - Southland Tales. This week we turn off our exhausted brains and attempt to discuss - Southland Tales. Richard Kelly of Donnie Darko fame assembles this conglomeration of ridiculousness, including the ensemble cast of Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. The Rock), Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seann William Scott, Justin Timberlake and Mandy Moore. Yep, somebody lost a bet... This train wreck of a movie incites comments that range from, "I like this movie - screw you guys." to "It's a piece of shit!". And as we try to rationalize with ourselves, you'll hear quotes like, "And really, [I was] even questioning why I was liking it, as I was watching it. Because I shouldn't like it. It's a mess!" and "I don't think I'll ever see this movie again - ever. But I had a good time." This movie is a lot to deal with, and our discussion just scratches the surface. Plus we interview filmmaker Linas Phillips, director of Walking to Werner. A movie about the director's journey on foot from Seattle to Los Angeles to meet Werner Herzog.
