Movie Meltdown - Episode 148

This week, after a round of Geek Activities, we sit down and talk with comedian and sound effects master Michael Winslow! Then we revisit the 80's comedy stylings of "Police Academy". But how does it hold up to our modern mindset?

And though it may feel like we are caught in Joe Dante‘s Inferno, while we are there we still manage to discuss… Dexter, Tree of Life, The Walking Dead, the world’s largest comedy festival, oh there’s Sean Penn… hey Sean, a polar bear wandering by, That’s Kung Fu, Michael Myers, Friction, Flip Wilson, a reasonably likable doofus, Andre Braugher, The Palomino Riders, Jennifer Lawrence, Cheech and Chong, John Goodman, The Gong Show, how come they give Sandra Bullock half a size to small to wear?, Mother Teresa’s plane skidding into a crowd, Halloween 4 and 5, Tom Green, A Boy’s Life, Count Basie, Mos Def, Miranda July, cutting edge Soviet theater, Monty Python, was he crushed by a ton of Hallmark cards someone was trying to make into a fucking movie?, Jack Benny, $100 budget, Water Max, Gremlins, Stallone, baby Kim Cattrall, Homicide, Storytelling, Red Skelton, Mel Brooks, Pretty Little Liars, mobile homeless, X-Men: First Class, Nets and Traps, Benny Hill, The More then average White Band, finding a big box of DVD’s, National Lampoon Magazine, decent little filmmaking… wrapped in an enigma… just slathered with pretentious bullshit, let’s play dress-up and do crafts, Desperate Housewives, floating heads, Waterworld, Maria Bello, you don’t mess with no Brooklyn rabbit and $516.32.

Spoiler Alert: In most ways you can spoil “Police Academy”, we probably do.

“I still have people telling me that what I’m doing is annoying.”
